3:18am:

16th September 2006

8:18pm: not eating for 24 hours + not sleeping for 24 hours + 10 shots of brandy in less than 5 minutes = waking up in hospital.

That is all...

7th August 2006

4:53pm: Well... King and I is over, but I am looking forward to South Pacific in September.

Fifth week of working, not too bad. Just getting money for doing nearly nothing. Class will end this Thursday!!!

29th July 2006

6:50pm: I have found my passion...and that is musical performances (pit style). So last night, I was invited to sight read music during a performance of The King and I and it was so cool. Now I get to play for reals tomorrow (err... today) Please come out and watch although it's quite expensive at 30 bucks. It's Friday Saturday at 8 PM and Sunday 2 PM this weekend and next weekend at the Amador Theatre. Just exit 580 east at Santa Rita and keep going it's on the right. Another thing was the red hat ladies. I thought the Red Hat Society was just a made up organization in the comic strip Pickles, but apparently it's real. There were about 20 of them sitting in the back row with red hats and purple dresses. I was very confused.

I had another funky dream, which probably occurred too late. So my friend Steve left for Irvine on Friday, and I guess I took him to San Jose to catch a Greyhound bus. Lo and behold, there she is ( I will refer to her as girl from now on). I have no idea why she would've been there unless she was going to LA or something to catch her flight cuz that's where she arrived at, but didn't she drive up here. Hmm... I guess we were there to get tickets and instead of waiting I went to Chinatown to eat stuff with my friend before he left and she was there with her friends, but soon after they left, so I caught up to her to say good bye but she ran off. And then I woke up...looked at my clock and it was 1 in the afternoon. Damn.

I think I know where parts of the dream came from, but very mixed and match. My friend Steve did in fact go to Irvine, I did take Greyhound to LA a month ago, but everything else is weird. I must stop thinking about her...I might hurt myself.

10:48pm: So three weeks of work and four weeks of school later....

Oh my god, working and going to school like 14 hours a day for the past three weeks has been killing me. I've eaten like so many ranola bars to keep awake and my trunk is totally piled with clothing cuz of all my clothing changes for performances and such. Good thing school is over in two weeks. I've decided to keep it on pass/not pass so that I can slack off even more even though I'd probably get a B. My job is going well. The boss is cool. He hired me because he knows that companies don't hire fresh grads and want 3-5 years of experience to do better stuff. Well... on to sleep.

16th July 2006

12:42am: sigh...

I guess I'll have to buy my football tickets from now on...

So, today marks the end of my career as instrumentalist in the University of California Marching Band. My greatest feat of performing on four different instruments and learning about the traditions and coolness of each section. Being able to switch from a large section of clarinets to a smaller section of mellophones. To be able to do the undoable by strutting with a bass knowing that somewhere in the future I may be pantsed. Playing bass more often than mello this semester.

Things that I am thank for:

Three bowl game trips (Insight, Holiday, Las Vegas)
Four years beating Stanfurd (each year the spread got larger)
Three road trips (Washington, Oregon, Pennsylvania)
Room S, Room DD, Room O, TH Basement crew
Friday nights in the lounge.
managing 27 units, research, a job, marching band, a frat and two clubs while tutoring 8 people with out me dying in the process.
Norcal BBQ
Straw Hat Band performances (especially the nice expensive food)
Picnic Day
Ski Trip
Conducting the band for my last oompa pah

Things that I feel should be changed:

Influx of piccs and phonez
Newmen that are lazier than oldmen

Yeah, I'm tired, time to go to sleep

9:10am: Dream sequence one
I guess I'll post it here first, cuz I know a few too many people on myspace who would probably read this.

Anyways...This will be one of my first entries logging a dream that I had. The only reason I'm logging this is for remembrance and to figure what the heck is going on in my head. Also, because dreams , especially mine, are quite disorganized, this will be quite a mush.

So anyways, as I remember it...

It was in a high school setting, and I'm probably in the band room. Introduce girl A, who looks similar to someone in reality. Ideal in physical atttractiveness and has similar interests to me (music, arts, old history and architecture). I initiate some chitchat with girl A and...introduce girl B, who I didn't expect to appear in school (or even in my dream...actually, she was meant to be there). girl B was visiting from some far away place. I sorta kinda know her, but her tastes in music and stuff appeals to me, but is slightly different from me, but I enjoy having her around, talking to her and such (not that I don't enjoy talking to girl A). Anyways, through a mutual attraction and seeing me with girl A, girl B gets jealous and rushes out of the room.
Sensing a misunderstanding, I run after her.

cut to restaurant scene...

I have no idea how I got here, but anyways, girl B seems awfully mad. But with my Keith-charm, I'm able to right things again. I arrange a dinner with her and it's nice and stuff. I think I saw one of my friends, Steve, there and he was sorta flirting with girl B and I probably kicked his ass, but that's irrelevant to the story. Everything goes well, we catch up on things.

The next day, I am at school and I'm just staring off at the distance at girl A...and poof...I have to wake up cuz I have to work. Dammit.

Well... that's the dream. In my opinion, I think it's my subconscious crying out to me to figure out what I want in life, especially as the time for dating and marriage approaches. Do I want someone with similar qualities or a little different? I definitely know exactly what the outer physical appearance should look like, but what about the inside (personality, interests and stuff). Also, I'm not sure whether the two girls were doppelgangers of each other or two separate people representative of two people I know in reality. I've been thinking about it the last two hours and it is quite perplexing. Hopefully girl A and girl B don't read this:-P

Also, it might be caused by my lack of sleep the last 4 nights.

10th July 2006

8:16pm: Yay for first years. So I was in Central Park after one of many 4th of July shindigs I had to perform, and low and behold, my little freshman buddies from high school. Chris Glass (used to be my neighbor), Neal Bowman (Men's Ensemble buddy), Dominic Desoto and Ian Scharg (tutor clients) and a whole lot more people of that generation were chilling out in Central Park for fireworks. I was cool because I was no longer in the situation where I had to be serious and teach.

Went to Dublin later that night to launch some spark fountains in a parking lot.

So, today, the 10th was the start of my training for my new job. I technically work for Shell now. Hopefully, I'll be promoted and make millions:-) However, going to work, tutoring, researching and going to school is starting to be a pain in the ass. I guess I'm starting to get old cuz I used to be able to do a whole lot more.

26th June 2006

10:16pm: Room S Unite!!
So, six months in the making, we have finally come together to celebrate our good times in band.

So our story begins on our way to Oakland. We left my house at 7:40 which was a bit behind schedule, so my parents asked my friend to take BART to 19th St. BART in Oakland, which in theory took the same amount of time as just picking him up and going, but mom had work so I guess that was more important. The Greyhound was a nice bus, took us to Coalinga Junction, two hours north of Bakersfield.

We bought some food at Burger King and went to the restroom. Apparently the half hour of break was over because as we came out of the bathroom, the bus was about to make a turn onto the main road from the parking lot. Luckily, the bus driver was nice and I ran really fast. We got a "You should get on the bus on time or you'd be stuck here and lost"

Arrived at Alameda and 7th in downtown LA. The trek up to LA Union station was a bit longer than expected, but we made it to the 6:40 train and Kevin picked us up and we hung out at his house. We watched silly online videos like wherethehellismatt.com

Woke up, ate donuts, left for Adam's Grandma's house. We arrived there ahead of schedule. When Adam arrived, we did the wherethehellismatt dance. Inside the house was an organ, and because of our nature, we played with it playing organ tunes, CalBand cadences and such. We left for the beaches finally finding one with a fire pit that we shared three hours later (Driving from Vista to South Mission Beach). However, fun times were to be had.

Adam came up with the idea:
"Welcome to the 2010 BCS Smoka Bowl on ESPN 8, the ocho, brought to you by Smoka brand beef jerky. 'When you've got the munchies, think Smoka brand beef jerky'"
If only we had the money.

So we shared the fire pit because we had wood and the others had the pit. We roasted marshmallows for smores, and hot dogs and went swimming in the ocean. At the end, we left the skewers and sprayed the rest of the lighter fluid in the fire.

Saturday, we went to Balboa Park in San Diego. We met up with Kelsey and went to the Museum of Man and the Science Center. We ran into this table that was advertising L. Ron Hubbard's Dianetics and we were tempted to get our Thetan levels read, take some pictures and praise Lord Xenu, but that didn't happen. The Science Center was cool because it was like the Exploratorium. Adam had to drive up to Berkeley, so we went to Kelsey's place to hang out, bbq, sing Karaoke. Yes, I know all those songs are high pitched, but my voice is the most clear up there, or else all you'll hear is mumbles. Yay falsetto. We went back to Kevin's place to sleep.

Sunday, we went to Magic Mountain. At first the lines were about 10 minutes long for Goliath, Batman, Riddler's revenge and Colossus (according to Kevin, this is the coaster that is shown in the opening to Step by Step) Then, they took hours for Scream, Viper, X and Tatsu (hehe, Tetsu: Fly at the speed of David) We called it quits and went on the carousel before leaving the park. As Jason went to hang out with his sister, Kevin dozed off and I watched Robot Chicken. We went to bed after a few clips of Robot Chicken.

Monday was stupid. We went to the bus depot, ate at a nearby McDonald's, went back and the line for North Hollywood/Oakland was ridiculously long. Luckily there was another bus. The only problem was it overheated after getting to Castaic. The bus driver decided to drive back to LA for another bus. That delayed us two hours. I finished a third of a history of video games book and drank a water bottle full of rum and coke as well as half a bag of marshmallows and graham crackers. Drove Jason home, and arrived at my home 3 hours ago.

Now, back to work for all of us.

19th June 2006

9:09pm: well... that sucked...

I came home from four days of housesitting/babysitting, and all my mom can say is:

-What? That's all they gave you? I thought you said there was more.
(So...the deal was 200 dollars for the weekend plus 200 dollars spending money. My parents thought it was 200 plus 50 a day plus 50 a day spending. Well... they were disappointed and so began a lecture blah blah blah. I mean I got 70 extra dollars for gas money and for repairing/cleaning the two kids' rooms. Seriously, something is up with mom and money. Couldn't she be the least bit happy that I came out with a bonus?)

-How come you can't find a job straight out of school like the other kids?
(Well... a majority of my friends are also still searching. I mean, I'm still working my ass off trying my best to make money to cover my brother's 8000 debt, but sheesh let me enjoy my youth, which takes me to the next point...)

-In the four weeks you've been graduating, you've been enjoying everyday. Have you even studied or worked on anything. You're going to lose the motivation to do well in your summer class.
(Ahem...I live to learn. Nothing can stop that from happening. In fact, I would rather be at school learning than coming home to extensive criticisms. I mean...just because your youth...and your current state...didn't enjoy life to its fullest does not mean I cannot. Especially if I get paid for it. Seeing as how my friend just passed away recently, I'm glad I'm enjoying every moment of life because who knows when I'll be gone.)

-Blah Blah, we don't want you to follow your brother's footsteps and not get a job etc.
(Hey, guess what? If I followed my brother's footsteps, the car wouldn't be in the garage from my trip to Great America. I would also be down the hole 8000 dollars and I wouldn't be living at home, but I am living at home, I'm actually up 8000 dollars and the car is in the garage, not totalled like the old Honda)

Ahhh.... that feels so much better after ranting...

15th June 2006

2:00am: Wow, already two weeks into the month.

Well... Just been tutoring, going to band, researching and finding jobs. However, the last couple of days were jam packed.

So, after graduation, parents left for canada, and I was home alone so I went clubbing and stuff, Then they came back last week and I was stuck at home. Last Thursday I found out that an old high school friend of mine had died, but for some reason I didn't feel anything. It was as if I had no emotion for the whole week up until today (Wednesday) at the funeral. There were many nice things said about dear old Saint Nich, which brought joy to me as I remembered the kookiness of our relationship, the witty things that he said whenever he spoke. I do remember him saying things along the lines of "if you have quick enough reflexes you can catch a bottle rocket" Seeing all my high school friends in one place was a pleasant surprise, but in the wrong place and situation.

Afterwards, I went to Pete's Brass Rail with Christy and Marissa for some food and a good cheer to Nich with beer. The weather was kind of gloomy and it started raining. Sometimes I wonder how rain follows me to funerals. It's funny, even on a sunny summer day, it somehow finds a way to rain.

We went to the Hann's house afterwards for Byron's home-from-school shindig. I played go against Arthur. I haven't played in ages, but I still had a good defensive stance and attacked when I really needed too, but he had me cornered. Drank a couple glasses of sake and left to go tutor.

However, in good news, before my grandparents left for Hong Kong yesterday, I was able to squeeze a couple of stories from them about their youth and hardships. I also had a very good interview for an enginnering job.

31st May 2006

4:24pm: First week out of school.

So I graduated on May 20th, leaving me with nothing to do until summer school or finding a job. Let's recount the events of this week

Monday-Job interview at Berkeley, Bowling, beat Time Crisis II, ate appetizers and drank long islands at a bar in Dublin, tutored, went to band rehearsal.
Tuesday-Home alone, tutored, drove parents to airport, went to band rehearsal, tutored, stayed up watching family guy and south park
Wednesday-cooked fish, lasagna, ate, then went to the city, went to a club, slept over in San Jose
Thursday-ate ramen, played Kingdom Hearts
Friday-Went to San Jose for clubbing and bar hopping
Saturday-?
Sunday-Went to Berkeley to visit friends, ate at Thai restaurant.
Monday-Tutored,performed at Memorial Day concert, band rehearsal, drank
Tuesday-made jello shots, tutored, triple waxed my friend's car just to stay awake until the Dow test in Pittsburg at 7 in the morning.

9th May 2006

11:22am: Mmmm...lots of pizza.

So after the Wind Ensemble concert, we went over to Zack Bruno's house, which happened to be near the CSUEBH campus. His parents bought us 20+ pizzas from Little Ceasers and we were happy. We tried to sing Toast to California, but there were no altos to boost up the sopranos to the right pitch. It was messy until we collectively sang "Alma Mater carry on" where everyone was in unison. Many people liked Republicans after today, such as Uri who stated, "I will never say a bad thing about Republicans again"

Moral of the story:
-Little Ceaser's still exists and their pizzas are really good.
-four people can sing much better than 16 people
-Republicans feed me
12:35am: hmm... what happened since the 23rd of April?

-New tutoring client
-Newman Party
-Mello/Net bonding
-NFL BLitz 2000
-Playing Schindler's List theme on violin
-Quatro de Mayo Dinner
-Many SHBs at preschools and retirements
-Tellefsen Hall Spring Formal
-Last Wind Ensemble concert ever ( or for a while)

Other than that, nothing has happened. Newmen Party was pretty fun. The Long Island Iced Tea tasted too heavy in tequila, the cosmo was too dilute and sweet, but otherwise, dressing up like golfers or tennis players was kind of different. I believe the night before that was mello/net bonding. We went to a Thai restaurant. I should probably just upload pictures onto facebook. I have also been procrastinating a lot by playing nintendo 64 games at TH or on my computer. However, playing mario kart and mario party with Gaby and Kelsey in Phillip's room was kind of fun. I think I have officially played more tuba on SHBs this semester than mello.

TH Spring Formal was pretty fun. It was my last chance of getting to go since I hadn't gone ever. So after an SHB in Moragga, we hurried to TH to find that the driver of the band van had left and we nominated Phil to drive ( I really didn't want to). We listened to Mexican music (sounded more like polka in spanish) and we inched our way to parking on top of a parking structure. We literally inched because our van was within inches of the clearance, but we made it and parked behind an in-n-out sign. I believe it was a twenty bucks well spent, small group of familiar faces along with chocolate, cheese and fruits and unlimited Shirley Temples.

Tomorrow will be my last hurrah as I will see everyone in band for maybe the last time, unless I figure out what I'm doing with my life and make time to chill out. For all those that read this, thanks for being there for me, thanks for all the good times.

23rd April 2006

1:54am: Wooo, hung out with so many friends these past few weeks.

Let's recount events:

Wed. Apr 12:
-find out History paper is due that day in class, rush over to computer lab and spit out a 7-9 page paper. Ask for extension to put in footnotes and conclusion.
-visit Yoshi, have Peet's coffee then we go to Border's to get some Sudoku books.

Thurs. Apr 13:
-eat dinner at TH, mmm.. ribs. let's play catch. Played through a round of Mario Party. Reminds me of good ol times.

Mon. Apr 17:
-Monday night dress rehearsal for concert

Wed. Apr 19:
-Picnic Day rehearsal. Note: Don't Stop Believing has a cool bass line. It's more fun playing bass when you don't have to march.

Sat. Apr 22:
-Picnic Day!!!! Lots of fun. Met up with long lost friend, Sean Emmons. Hung out with the best peoples ever.

9th April 2006

1:33pm: Wow, I totally did nothing at school this week. Monday Wednesday and Friday, I nearly slept the whole day except for my history lecture. This was mostly due to the fact that some virus was still bugging my ear and sinuses. I skipped wind ensemble tuesday and wednesday to go home early and sleep some more.

Thursday night was my frat's Trust Walk where we took our pledges in cars to some place blindfolded and led them around. It was loads of fun. I discovered how much I suck at basketball after not playing in league for over 7 years...and after drinking a beer in the dark.

Friday, I finally decided to do some sort of homework, but I got nowhere since I lost my file. I went to the end of the year bbq/party at the band house. I ate a lot of chicken burgers and drank a lot of soda and water. When the party we started a game of King's cup, much the same as the game of King's cup in Pennsylvania. And just to make it feel more similar, I began asking people for booze money:-P. I stopped drinking the rest of the night because it was funnier to watch other people stumble and do stupid things. After the party was closing down, we went to my frat's party, which was quite tame compared to past semesters. Danced with a lot of people, had a little more booze and then went home.

Saturday was a blast. First, I woke, up to drive over to Berkeley for a small tennis SHB performance. Then me and Phillip went back to TH and drove back over to Chris's (Phil's cousin) house in Danville (so round trip already) . We watched Chris win his World of Warcraft raid and then got ready to leave back to Berkeley, Chris driving. We went back to TH and played Smash Bros for a while. Eventually it was call time and we went down to BRH to get dressed and eat pizza. The busses took us to SF for the Charter Banquet/Gala thing where we waited outside for a while before playing our fight songs on stage and leaving again. Me Chris and Phillip stayed for dinner. Mmmm... 100 dollar steak. Bus ride home was fun. Drove Hanadi and Allie home. and then we went back to TH to play more Smash Bros and Mario Kart. I still suck.

I enjoyed this weekend. Too bad I'm graduating soon. Too many memories and too many memories I could still be making.

4th April 2006

11:22pm: What did I do during Spring Break?

Spring Break officially started Friday afternoon when I told my group to finish up their part of the paper and turn it in. I then proceeded to play countless hours of poker/spades/hearts/blackjack and deuces wild on yahoo games. This resulted in me staying up till 6 in the morning sleeping until 10 and continuing on. I did finish half of an assignment, caught up on reading and stuff.

Monday, I contracted some sort of cold, which left me with sniffles and coughing. Tuesday, I was shooting BB guns in my backyard, around 3 in the afternoon and the neighbor yelled at me for disturbing his dogs. He wanted to talk to my parents, but I was like, wtf? I'm 22 you can talk to me. Some time later, the police came and gave me a stern warning about bb guns. I was like, how come the kids next door get to shoot their guns wherever and I can't even shoot it in my own backyard?

Wednesday I was all better. Mom gave me a chore list to do since i wasn't being very productive. Cleaned the stove, steam vent, relined the stove with aluminum foil and cleaned the bathroom vents, woohoo!!! being productive.

Thursday, hung out with my friend again, and then tutored a kid for his test the next day. Went out that night to some downtown Irish pubs to help my friend socialize or something and then went further South to San Jose to meet up with some other friends. Some time that night I developed a fever and some sinus infection. Returned home with an ear ache. Slept uncomfortably for the past few nights. Woke up every 3 hours (my sleep cycle), but each time it felt like 8 hours. I think time just passes by slower when I'm sick.

So currently, I'm avoiding all sorts of band so that i don't blow out my eardrum, but going over that damn hill to school blows it out anyways. I think my eardrum is default set to go inwards because when I reach the top of the hill, everything's fine.

Meh.

19th March 2006

11:38pm: Pennsylvania....
well... actually University Park, PA, a four hour flight to the middle of nowhere where ist is freezing cold and there is absolutely nothing to do. We had to take a taxi to the college from our hotel resort. It wasn't really that much of a resort.

Key facts that I learned:
-Liquor is sold before 9 PM
-Bottle shops open until 2 AM
-You can only buy beer 12 bottles at a time, in which they must be removed from the bottle shop property and then you can go grab more.
-Turkey sandwiches are good, but I'd rather have a warm meal on a commercial flight.
-Pennsylvania is boring.
-Unlike Berkeley, all the buildings at Penn State are red brick and look the same.
-They like to name things after their football coach (eg. library, stadium, statues, lecture halls).

now to get maimed by schoolwork.

28th February 2006

12:24am: I guess I should update once in a while. No wonder it's been boring lately. I'm not spending enough time wasting time.

A month and a half have gone by like that. In two months I will be graduating. So far I've had six problem sets, a paper and two more problem sets due next week. Other than that it's been a daily ritual of school, lab and wind ensemble. I've been attending basketball games instead of frat meetings.

Speaking of the frat, I decided to partake in the scavenger hunt this weekend. I was happy that it didn't take as long as previous years and that I still remembered some chemistry and random frat facts. My team came in second, but it's okay cuz the first team cheated. Bah.

The weekend before (the long weekend) I spent downloading and watching old school corny stupid movies for the sake of them being stupid (e.g. Dude, Where's My Car, Eurotrip, 10 thing I Hate About You, 40 Days 40 Nights, Save the Last Dance, Road Trip etc.)

Right now the only thing on my mind is how to get myself to Scotland this winter. Seeing as I don't have a substantial income, I'd probably have to save up a bunch of money and also hope that I land a sweet job right out of college.

Tutoring has been quite an adventure so far. i actually decided to delete World of Warcraft off of one of my student's computers and for a couple of weeks he was actually mad and wouldn't let me tutor. I just laughed, shrugged it off and started tutoring his little brother. But later on, he realised how dumb it was to be addicted to a game and not go outside and socialize so yay, one point for the Keith.

Looks like midterms are coming up.

15th January 2006

11:37pm: Winter Break 2005
First week: Bowl Game!!!
Second Week: More Bowl Games...lost the bet of who could guess the most outcomes (-5 dollar)
Third Week: Rose Parade, download/watched movies
Fourth Week: Cal Band Ski Trip!!!

So the last three days were a blast. I haven't gone on a ski trip since....eighth grade...with the band. The trip up was cool. We listened to Jeff Foxworthy and Mitch Hedberg, also listened to Strong Bad. Had a milkshake at Carl's Jr. That night, everyone was tuned into Beuaty and the Geek 2 because a fellow bandmate, Ankur Mehta, was on the show. Too bad he was playing the arrogant card. Watched South Park, Family Guy and some other stuff and went to bed.

The first day, we went to Kirkwood, performed in the morning, skied for 4 hours and then made a wedge on the bunny slope to perform our pregame. The great part is that I still remembered how to ski so that day was pretty good. However, it hadn't snowed for a couple of days so the paths were icy. I went on a black diamond where I took a jump thinking that it was only a foot, but when I turned around it was a lot taller than I was. I turned in my skis and joined some people to make a snow bear thing in which we threw snowballs at. The day was over and we went home, went to an Italian restaurant for dinner and sat in the hot tub.

The second day there was heavy snow, so we had to thaw out the car and equip the tire chains. We went to Sierra and this time I snowboarded. I actually learned really quick. In less than an hour I was already up the ski lift and going down the mountain, only falling 4 times in the first run. Later that day I took a path that was quite long. The snow was relentless and I didn't have a hat so my head was freezing. By the end of the day, I could do nearly everything but carve right. Not bad for a beginner. That night my section had a bonding and we ate at a mexican restaurant and played some card games. Then I joined some others in games of Cranium. We watched an episode of South Park and then Drawn Together.

The third day I went back to skiing. the tire chains had broke so we bought new chains and equipped them. Just a normal day. We went to the top of the mountain to eat at the ski lodge up there and then skied down at the end of the day to do our final performance and head home. Now my whole body hurts...

Back to school.

23rd December 2005

9:21pm: So it ends...

After seven years of marching band, it ends, what do I do now?

Yesterday's game was quite exciting, a very good end to my college football watching days. And Las Vegas was a good way to spend the holidays with my friends who I will not see for a long time. I made about five dollars, which wasn't much, but just enough to pay for the taxi ride back to the hotel. Me and Kevin drank a real Long Island Ice Tea this time, and was great, but for what it's worth, I think Aaron's mix was good for its relatively free price.

A thing about mormons. Since we were playing BYU, we got to mingle with mormons. They are really nice people, they don't cuss, they don't drink. Overall they're bland people, but there are a few that stick out. They have a curfew for sleeping and they are all pretty attractive. Their tuition is lower than ours, their band gets paid and they have to sign contracts against being gay, drinking, and doing bad stuff. Their fans outnumbered us and were quite loud, but their band was slightly bland.

Well, farewell to you, Jonathan and Kevin, and I hope you have a good life

Keith out.

7th December 2005

11:11pm: Ahh...no longer have to deal with my lab partner ever again...

Yesterday's Straw Hat Band performance was kind of interesting. The bus didn't come so we waited in front of the RSF for an hour and a half. Then the coordinators rented a van to drive us over, except the driver ran over a curb on a sharp turn, so the tire blew out. So we were on the side of the freeway for an hour. Meanwhile, at the funeral in SF, the mayor was there and he ordered two cop cars to escort part of the band to SF. The rest of us had to wait for a replacement van. And then the driver hit another curb on the way there...good thing it wasn't too hard.

28th November 2005

8:21am: Big Game Week is over...as of a week ago.

Time to catch up on work...

For thanksgiving, I visited my brother in Monterey. It was a fun experience, being one of the few Asians in a city. I finally watched Star Wars episode 3 and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Me and my brother beat half of Halo 2 on cooperative mode. My brother's father-in-law took me out to the ocean (Monterey Bay) to go fishing. We caught some ridiculously huge fish. My nephew is very funny. As long as he's in his walker he'll walk around the house and run people over. He's definitely developing recognition skills right about now. It was quite a relaxing weekend, given that my parents weren't there to nag me. Typically on holidays, I'm supposed to do housework, which I eventually did all day on Sunday. 9:50am: Half of Big Game Week is over...hmm...

So after the USC game, we had a breakoff band which was awesome because I had driven so I could leave at any point. So I went to breakoff band for about 2 hours and then headed over to the TH party where me and Kevin gave toasts to everyone and everything. I slept over for the night, but then woke up immediately at 7:30 because I realized people could do stuff to me in my sleep. THe first thing I did was go to the bathroom and sure enough they had written all over me. I spent a good 30 minutes getting stuff off. Then I went over to the band room to get ready for Pier 39 performance.

The Pier 39 was cool. We got free t-shirts, free clam chowder, and we got to see some sea lions. Then I drove home in time to tutor.

Straw Hat Band performances:
Cable Car Rally-ate an Earthquake ice cream sundae at Ghiradelli's
basketball game after Wind Ensemble rehearsal
PG&E luncheon-food, extra credit,pins and 25$ gift certificates
Volleyball/Night Rally-Los Tres Amigos
Guardsmen- played bass, played for money on the streets
Momo's-food, beer, charged up laptop, tecmo super bowl

And now it's Thursday. Done absolutely nothing. Gotta write a paper.

10:23pm: Holy shit!!! I haven't updated in 2 weeks. whatever.

So last weekend, I went to Oregon with the band. That was so great. I was able to meet up with my elementary school friend who moved to Redding on the way up. We played for Parsons Jr. High in Redding and then we went into Oregon to a restaurant called Heaven on Earth where I ate the best cinnamon bun and hamburger ever. Then we arrived in Oregon. We ventured through their campus and saw Oregon license plates that said CAL and CBK that we wanted to take.

The game didn't go so well, but at least we left with some posters and stuff. The ride back was cool...we went to the Sundial Bridge (Sundial+Bridge) We analyzed the physics of kicking the cables that held up the bridge...creating different pitches and wave travelling...yay berkeley nerds. We watched The Big Lebowski, Mrs. Doubtfire, Zoolander and Coming to America.

Now to prepare for the SC game. Went to the Keg Race and then to Royal Exchange. So much booze but no drunk Keith...
